Part 1 : The Potluck

Part 1 : The Potluck

Its been a super hectic week for me, from deciding what to do, arranging my potluck, writing out personal statements, going downtown and finishing my applications right on the dot...
Not to mention getting sick along the way.

I decided to split up the events of the past week into a few parts, seeing that I couldn't blog it all at once. So this is the much awaited...

Part 1 : The Potluck

It was great to see you people, since I haven't seen you all for ages. The food was good, the company even better. I haven't had so much fun or laughed so much since the last get-together. And its a change from the usual movie+makan+pool thing. So lets do it again, ya!
Lets see if I can remember what food there was.

There was...

Pizza, fried noodles, curry chicken, potato salad, chicken sandwhiches, cocktails, satay, nuggets, banana splits and drinks.
See, I have a good memory when it comes to food! =p

The Kinz and Sueh were the first to come at 6.15. Even I was surprised that they came that early. The rest came in almost an hour late (typical Malaysian timing =p). Kinz, Sueh, Yang & Drew started off by playing with my bro's Jenga. Whoever topple the Jenga must drink 3 cups of water. I decided to save energy by just dumping a whole jug of water next to them. They were the first few ppl who asked me where the toilet was later. Hehe.

The guys started playing with my bro's toys and reliving their childhood. From his McD's Kiosk, to his swords and his Lego and easels and practically anything playable that caught their eye.
On the other hand, my bro was delighted to see so many new playmates who were willing to layan him and play with him swords and whatnot. He even managed to get them to be his students and play Hangman. I do apologize if any of you got hurt while playing with my bro. He does tend to get a lil carried away sometimes. But I did see my bro being squashed by Thiam Beng at one point. =p

Forced everyone into playing Pictionary eventhough the guys were glued to the TV.
(Note to self: Must try to avoid having this things on the same night as the popular football matches)
Sadly, the girls lost to the guys, NOT because we were lousy drawers/guessers, but because we keep on getting jinxed when we threw the dice! *glares at the ppl who were jinxing us*

Michelle, you had the right time, right place and the right things going on that night. ;)

Yang decided to go home during the half-time of the Arsenal match so that he could see Arsenal win 5-0. Too bad they only made it to 4-0, Yang. =p
That was the point where everyone gathered outside my house to play fireworks. The guys had to resort to using candles to light up the fireworks stuck in a Coke bottle rather unsuccessfully, when suddenly, someone realised that those fireworks weren't the dangerous rocket types that flew up in the air. Instead, these were sparklers. Haha.

We did our fair share of adding to the air pollution. After everything sparkled and sizzled, there was so much smoke that it looked like Genting Highland at night. It was a bit like those movie scenes where the hero/villian strides out of the fog and cuts a dashing pose. *and the girls swoon in adoration/shiver in fear, depending whether its the hero/villian*
This was definitely a cue for some people to start posing in the smog and taking pictures.
After that, the guys went home and the girls came inside for round 2, the sleepover.

One final thing,

Ladies and gentlemen, put your hands together for the winner of the Babysitter Award of the Night, Mr. Lee Thiam Beng! *tremendous applause, please*

Beng pretty much won because he subjected himself to being battered about by my brother and not strangling him and charging me an outrageous fee at the end of the night.

Btw, Beng, you're hired till further notice as my bro's newest babysitter/playmate. =]

To be continued : Part 2 : The Sleepover and the aftereffects.
