Parking woes

Parking woes

Left the house at 11.40 to for a 12pm class. I knew I was gonna run slightly late, but I totally didn't expect to be 30 minutes late. Traffic was smooth but when I reached main block's parking area, stuck at the ticket collecting thingy was a paper saying 'Parking full. 1st 10 mins free'.

"Oh shit!" *immediate autopilot response*

There were easily 15-20 cars circling around like vultures looking for corpses to eat. As there were many cars roaming the front area I headed right to the end hoping to squeeze the car into an empty lot. No such luck, there were 5 other cars there already.

And I got horned because I didn't swing the car enough when turning so I had to reverse in order not to scrape an Atos which wasn't parked in a proper lot. The guy behind must be thinking I'm some kind of bimbo who doesn't know how to drive. But its not my fault that I'm obviously driving a wider car than you and you refuse to back up to give me more space to reverse and manoeuvre.

Missed a few lots and gave up before my 10 minutes ran out. At that point, I was more than willing to park at Wisma Help for RM4 for 2 hours but there was a sign outside the area saying 'Parking full.'

At that point, I started to worry seriously.

Contemplated parking by the road after the roadside stalls but all the good spaces were taken up. There were already many cars parked up on the curb but there was no way in hell I was going to be able to get the Cefiro up there along with the rest.

Desperate times call for desperate measures!

Turned into the first left lane at the housing area to discover that there were no good spots either. Having no other choice, I parked right under this low-hanging tree and bushes right opposite a 'No Parking' sign. And just before I locked the car, a construction worker nearby asked me to lock my car properly because he was looking and didn't see me lock the car. How nice of him. =)

Grabbed the umbrella and started walking all the way to KPD which took me 10 minutes. And jeez, I chose to wear a skirt and low heels today of all days! *groans and bemoans my luck*

Made it to class at 12.30. And yet I wasn't the last person to come in.
Rushed back to the car as soon as I could as my classmate warned me to be careful when parking in the housing estate as he got 'samaned' before. I definitely didn't want to fork out cash for parking summons and my dad wouldn't be too happy about it too.

The car was summons-free. =)

I had to enter most undignifiedly through the passenger seat as I didn't want to fight my way past the tree and bushes. Lucky thing no one was looking anymore. =p

I shall avoid parking there anymore. I was lucky today but I may not be so lucky the next time. But it was nice not having to pay for parking. Hehe.

I am considering whether to take public transport to college tomorrow for exams. My classmate who was in college at 10.30am today said there wasn't much parking left when he arrived. I don't want another repeat of today's frantic searching for parking on the day of my Stats exam. But neither do I want to be at college so early too. =(

To fellow drivers, I have suffered as you have and from today I will commiserate with you as a fellow comrade and victim.
