The farewell reunion

The farewell reunion

Today was the 5 Jasmin reunion lunch which is a sort of farewell to our emeritus assistant monitor Lee Wen Yang who is leaving for the University of Western Australia to do a double degree. This fella here has Einstein's hair and Einstein's brains. Class joke : If a bee ever flew into Weny's hair, it would get trapped there forever. Oh well, that's another friend lost to the continent of Aussie.

Met Karl Son about 11 and we picked up George and he told us all about his car that got hit by an unknown driver when he parked at Subang. Poor George....

Reached 1U and I wanted to go shopping while Karl and Beng wanted to do their shopping so we decided to split up and meet back at 1. George and I walked all the way to the old wing but came back to the new wing empty handed.

Met up with the rest of the 5 Jasminians and we decided to go Chili's for lunch where I ordered my usual Monterrey Chicken. Its the only thing I ever eat in Chili's cause I don't really like anything else. Haha. Did I tell you their mashed potatoes are fabulicious? And this time, I actually finished everything on the plate by myself, except the veggies cause I am a carnivore and I don't like eating veggies. :D

There were 22 of us and we had to split into 3 tables cause Chili's wouldn't seat an incomplete party and we had to wait and there wasn't enough place to sit us all at one table. Hmmph! This is why I don't really like Chili's. They have an issue with large and incomplete parties.

Those who came :
Edmund, Hsiao Ling, Mun Yi, Chia Pei, Lee Yian, Oga, Bee Suan, Congning, Yu Deng, Zhan Sheng, Weny, Eng Loon, Deepika, Abishek, Eman, George, Thiam Beng, Karl Son, Simon, Aaron, Kah Yang, Suan Loong, Sabrina, Marianne and myself. Did I miss anyone else out?

Chit-chatted throughout lunch before making a move at 3pm. Saw loads of people whom I haven't seen in ages. Thank you Mun Yi for organizing it!
The people at my table
Me, Marianne Chung and Abee.

After lunch, we all split up as everybody wanted to do different things. Oh and we managed to see a lion dance performance at The Oval too. I like watching lion dance performances. =)

Karl, Beng, George and I decided to catch a movie as George and I wanted to watch Blood Diamond but the timing wasn't right. Met Kah Yang and Emily at GSC and found out that they were watching Hit & Blast. We decided to join them and coincidentally, the 4 tickets we bought were right next to their seats. They were surprised to see us walking up to them. Haha.

A conversation between me and Suan Loong earlier on...

Me : Eh Suan Loong, you watch Hit & Blast already right? Nice or not?
SL : Not bad lar. Complicated.
Me : Got cute guys or not?
SL : Not really. If you want the Chad Michael Murray type than don't have la.
Me : Chad Michael Murray is cute. Too bad no cute guys.

Later on when the show starts, I think...
How can Suan Loong say no cute guys?!
Jason Statham is not bad looking and Ryan Philippe (the ex of Legally Blonde's star, Reese Witherspoon) is cute lar. Who can ever forget his seducer-fell-in-love role in Cruel Intentions? Not exactly Michael Chad Murray hot but still cute in his own way. Hmmph!

The show wasn't that bad. Pretty decent actually. Or maybe I just like watching Jason Statham being his usual wisecrack sarcastic I-don't-give-a-damn-about-the-rules personality and Ryan Philippe smart innocent kid turn rule-bender. Plus he is cute, too. ;)

The guys head home and I walk back to the old wing to try on that blouse and pants I saw earlier while waiting for my parents to come for dinner. That blouse comes in faded pink, white and black. I wanted white, but the saleslady said they didn't have S size so I had to pick between an S black or an XS pink. I decided to grab the pink for CNY (eventhough I said to George earlier on that it looked like it was washed 1000 times before being sold. On a closer look, the colour's actually quite pleasant.) but it was defective so I asked for a new one. And the same saleslady tells me that they only have an XS in white!

Why didn't you tell me earlier that you had an XS white, I ask her. And she said I asked for S, not XS. Hello, I might have said S, but if you were smart enough to see that I bothered to ask for S and that I could fit into an XS, you should have taken the initiative to tell me there was a freaking XS in the stockroom. How lar you want to do sales like that?

It was sort of a good thing that they didn't have pink in XS. Cause if they did, I might have faced difficulty deciding which one to buy. As it is, I bought the white which was my first choice. =p

And yes I know its CNY and I'm supposed to wear red and all but look on the bright side, its not black either. Which means grandma probably won't give me the look when I wear it during CNY. Hehe.

Head off to to Kluang Station for dinner where I bump into Jun King and his family and my mum bumps into her ex-colleague from Sri Sentosa. Then its off to MPH where my dad buys my brother a book as a reward for getting 7/7 for his BM spelling.

Lucky kid! I never had it so good at his age. I definitely didn't get storybooks whenever I got full marks for my spelling. If I did, well lets say I'd have loads of loads of books as a child and my dad would start wishing that my teacher didn't give spelling at all. =p

I realize that I've been out of the house for almost 12 hours straight and I've been in 1U for 10 hours plus. 1U really is my second home. Hehe.

Tomorrow, I have to get up before sunrise for the 7am mass. *groans* I don't like being unable to go for my usual Saturday evening mass. *sighs* More importantly, I have only 1 day of holiday left. *gasps in disbelief* Where did the one week fly to? I haven't even finished watching all my DVD's. No...I need more time..For the first time in weeks, tomorrow I will have to sleep before 1am in order not to doze off during the first day of college. =(

Oh, and I feel its a bit like the pot calling the kettle black. Which kinda puts you in a hypocrite-ish position doesn't it? I wonder if you even realise that or if you consider it 'different'. I think I would. But then again, we both know that we are each capable of bending the rules to fit our own pictures and justifications on the term 'differences'. Well, so be it.
