The good, the bad & the puzzles

The good, the bad & the puzzles

Sunday's are always slow to come and fast to go by.

What made my day:
1. I was at my club's library when the librarian who has probably recognized me from the numerous times I have set foot in there during odd times on weekdays sort of recommended me this book. She told me the book was pretty new and that it wasn't on the reserve list yet and she offered it to me. I know that on a surface glance, it would seem like a meaningless trivial gesture, but to me, I really appreciated the fact that she recognized me as a "loyal customer" and made the effort to make me feel good. =)

Oh and did I mention this librarian is relatively new (as in working there for less than 2 years) and she always smiles at everyone who enters the library? I must say their PR is much better than what it was many years back.

2. I went to San Fransisco's for dinner. I like them the way I like The Ship and Secret Recipe. Food outlets in various places where you can get fairly good food wherever and whenever you want. Though the lobster bisque didn't taste as good as it once did. =p

3. I beat my dad and my brother in Monopoly just now. I won by the grand total of RM1900. =)

What annoyed me:
1. On the way home from my club, I was on the LDP reaching the free u-turn at Taman Megah that goes to SS4 when traffic on that lane came to a standstill. Its kinda obvious that some idiot must have been on the free u-turn lane trying to cut queue and slide into the next lane when the lights went red and he had to stop and block up the lane. Immediately, a cacophony of horns sprouted up until the lights turned green and the lane was cleared.

What puzzles me:
1. If you understood what I typed, can you please tell me what's the logic of banging the horn when the road is blocked and nothing can be done by adding to the noise pollution? Yes, the fella who tried to cut queue and ended up blocking the lane is a total jerk+selfish+idiot but why are you compounding the problem by venting off your frustration by hitting your horn? Its noisily annoying, plus it doesn't get anything done. Sounding your horn doesn't magically make that car vanish into thin air and clear the lane! If you really wanna do something, why don't you step out of your car and beat that idiot up set a good example to fellow drivers and your children by not doing such a selfish act like that when you drive?

2. I beat my brother in Monopoly by RM 1900. We started out with the same amount of cash and we sold everything back to the bank at the end of the game. If my brother did not land on any of our sites that would require him to fork out huge amounts of cash and I had only one windfall of RM 1000 from my dad who landed on my hotel, how did I end up with RM 900 extra? There were some minor (all less than RM 100) injections and withdrawals.

So can someone please explain the logic behind the 2 puzzles of the day?
