Intolerable Cruelty

Intolerable Cruelty

I was super grouchy about a 5 hour break in between my Thursday 8-6 when I showed up for my law lecture to find that it got cancelled. And my dad drove off before I could get him to send me home. My oh-so-sympathetic classmates stood there laughing at me. Cruelty of this sort at 8am in the morning is too much to be tolerated by any sane sleep deprived person...

I stood there alternately yawning and shivering and eventually realised that with my law classes cancelled, I only had one class at 10am. Was so damn tempted to go home and play hooky for that 1 hour math class. Instead, I sat down at the mamak with my classmates and started complaining about how pissing off it was to have your 1st class cancelled without any prior notice. The very least a lecturer could do was to text the class rep about the cancellation. There's not much excuse for not knowing you class rep's number or even if you don't know, you can call up the department and ask them for his/her number. Sigh, its the first freaking class of the day and you cancel it at a drop of a hat. Some people actually have to take public transport for 1 1/2 hours carrying heavy textbooks just for a cancelled class. These poor people have my heartfelt sympathy as I do take public transport to college at times sans the heavy textbooks of course and I feel their suffering and misery.

Whines and complaints aside, we proceeded to ponder on what we could do kill time till 10am. Someone wanted to skip class and go out and the rest of us fell in line by agreeing to watch Ghost Rider. Some wanted to play cards but that idea petered out as the nearest deck of cards were in a car at the main block.

I went on to play blackjack and promptly lost RM5 before heading to a jam-packed class that resembled a can of sardines. 75% of the people there weren't my classmates so Clareen and I grabbed a place at the back and proceeded to stone, squint and copy, argue and talk to Dhaya and Arafat who gave up all pretences of copying towards the end of class. Hehe.

Gossiped with Sook Teng and Clareen while waiting for someone to pick us up from LC. As John, Ee Wei and Wil Liam drove up and pulled over in a row, it occurred to me there were only 4 passengers and 3 cars. I somehow seemed to have counted more passengers (who disappeared behind my back and ended up in 1U) at the mamak earlier on. Oops, my bad.

The guys did their usual machoboy roadthing with their tail-gating and smirking as they overtook one another on the road. When will guys grow up? *shakes head*

Hopefully, not for a long long time.
Then we can continue to mock them from our lofty perches. Hehe.

Ghost Rider was just a decent watch for 6 bucks. While I'm sure the guys and those bikesters were drooling and eyeball-glued to the screen, I'd have liked it more if they delved more into the plot and storyline and less of the flaming skull, fire-spurting modified bike and its stunts. Not that they aren't nice but I'd prefer more stuff and less fluff, thank you very much. The younger version of Johnny Blaze looks so much hotter than the older version. The chick also looks way better in her younger version. The older version looks so puffily celluloid and yucky. Not to mention I thought she looked a bit like Jessica Simpson.

We went separate ways after the show as the rest wanted to eat Wong Kok and Sook and I were going to meet Wai Ee and we didn't feel like eating Chinese/modified Hong Kong food. Finally left after inquisitive questions + raised eyebrows on who I was meeting. Not to mention the "I can't believe you're ditching/dumping/leaving us to go..." sentence popping out of their mouths. They're not gonna let me forget this one so soon. Not to mention I'll have to see them tomorrow and hear them mutter, "You ditcher/dumper." at me while giving me a dirty look. Hehe.

Went to Chili's where I had my Monterrey Chicken again and Wai Ee ordered a mashed potato. Haha. I shall do that next time I have a craving for their mashies. Did I tell you we both love the mashed potatoes? Haha. For the amount that I complain about Chili's, I end up eating there most of the time I'm out with friends. I don't really complain about Italiannies but I rarely eat there with friends. How's that for ironic? *shakes head*

So newsflash, I finished every single thing on the plate including the veggies (stop shaking your head in disbelief, will ya?) except for the onions cause I didn't fancy them. And I only ate the veggies cause Kinz, Eman and Sueh Lung were taking ages to meet us there.

Accompanied the guys who wanted to get a drink at Kluang Station where we discussed the pending potluck which changed to a bbq and then a steamboat before it remained a potluck. If you guys want something else, then make up your minds earlier and don't say "Anything la or Up to you la" when asked to make a decision, okay. =)

Went off shopping with the girls and Sueh Lung who sat down at every shoe shop we entered. Haha. I tell you, this is seriously a guy thing. And Wai Ee, it wasn't a sneaky trick. It just bubbled out naturally. And you enjoyed it after all. =p

Came home and practically fell asleep while doing binomial expansions. I gave up those never-ending x's and brackets and just let the work pile up for the weekend where I'll probably make a perfunctory attempt at finishing it. Darn, I just remembered I have a bunch of Stats work also. Ahh, I'll worry about it later and drop into dreamland before my head explodes.
