O happy day

O happy day

Today, was such a lovely lovely day.
First off, I had enough sleep.
Secondly, I won some money.
Thirdly, need I say more? =p

Headed to Bangsar after class and was walking towards McD's when we suddenly got stopped by this lady on the pavement. I was all prepared to walk past her casually and I was all ready to give her my "No thank you, we don't want whatever it is you are selling for whoever line." with a nice smile when she suddenly asked us if we could do a movie review.

Huh? *ter-stunned for awhile*
Movie review? *puzzled look on face*

She asked us to do a movie review for Channel V on the movie called the '300.' (or something like that) .I have never heard of such a show and she was going on all explaining about it being an epic movie and something like 'Troy' with loads of great fighting sequences and Persian against Greece etc.

Recruiter : So can one of you do the movie review cause we only need one person.
Me and Wai Ee immediately point to each other.

Recruiter : Can you do it? *looks at me* You seem like the more outgoing person.
At that point, all I could think of was, "What the...? I say a few encouragingly polite words and you call me more outgoing!" I wish I had just walked on or just kept my mouth shut. After mentally cursing myself, I reluctantly agree.

She had to prompt me since I couldn't recognize any of the leading characters. One guy was a Rodrigo (something starting with an S) from 'Lost' which I don't watch and I don't like, and another guy was Gerald Butler who plays the engineer Karl in 'Love Actually' which I only saw a bit, but he is fairly hot lah.

Basically, all she wanted me to do was to promo the movie and enthusiastically tell white lies about how damn good the movie was going to be because there were hot guys and chun fighting sequences and that everyone should go watch it, end of story.

I mentally prepared some phrases before she could turn on the camera. I felt so stupid holding the mike and even sillier when she pointed that super huge camera at me and started recording. I think I repeated myself, got my tongue all tangled-up and I couldn't remember that Rodrigo's full name and I went...

Me : Well, the show starrs Gerald Butler from 'Love Actually' and Rodrigo *blank pause - frantically tries to remember his surname* and Rodrigo from 'Lost.'
I think I probably threw in the word hot in that sentence too, for good measure. =p

While I was undergoing this ordeal, Clareen and Wai Ee were in the background and they hazily seemed to be snickering at me and Wai Ee was snapping pics with her phone. The camera lady probably felt my increasing discomfort on her screen and decided that it was enough.

After she switched off the camera and we were in line at McD's, a whole storm of words and phrases that I meant to say earlier on. Now why couldn't they have came out earlier while I was right in front of the camera?!

I guess its a bit tougher talking about something you don't know in front of a camera that's possibly going to come out on TV to the masses (unless they edit it and cut my segment out), than simply talking about stuff you don't know without a camera recording it. I shall try to remember to catch it on Channel V next week.

Came home and watched my 9.30 series which is so full of drama cause its ending tomorrow and they need to get all the background for the culmination of the plotting and scheming all set up. I just adore these drama shows. Hehe.
