Happy 19th Birthday Do Clareen!

Went for Clareen's birthday bash at her place in Puchong. Wai Ee, Charmaine and I followed Amery there and back as her parents were kind enough to fetch us. Thanks, Amery! =)

Wai Ee and I were like jacoons while sitting in Amery's Naza Ria cause we were fiddling around with the backseat stuff and "ooh-ing" and "ahh-ing" around. It was like sitting in an aeroplane, the seats were plushily roomy and had loads of legroom, there was a mini table that unfolded like those on the plane in front of us and there were 2 DVD players also. So cool, right? Hehe. I know that I'm being kampung girl-ish, but I don't have a Ria at home, ok. It was a good thing we were in such a big and high vehicle, cause when we arrived near Cla's area, the roads were pretty flooded until we could see a plastic chair floating by half-submerged. I was so thankful I was not in a Kancil, cause if I was, I'd be seriously worried whether I'd get stuck in the floods.

Arrived at Cla's place and met her primary and secondary school friends and her relatives. All her relatives were wearing different shades of red, so it was fairly easy to pick out who was a relative, or so I thought.
The girls all seriously sober at the beginning of the party

A whole bunch of us HELP-ians sat down at a table and ate, but somehow, table conversation was rather subdued. There were 2 Robyn/Robin's at the table, and when Cla called Robyn/Robin, both the Robyn/Robin's turned and looked at her. So we decided to differentiate them by calling them 'Robyn girl' and 'Robin boy'. How original. =p
The spread of food Birthday girl, Wai Ee and Amery

I said something sarcastic to Bernice and she hit my hand which was holding a spoonful of food. Before you could say, "Shit!" the food landed on my less than 5 months old light pink pants. I was still a little stunned as I saw the food fly and I scanned the spotless floor for the food. Then, I looked down at my pants and saw the rice and curry.

"SHITBLOODYHELL!" *mentally spoken, of course*

I run to the bathroom and try to sponge it off with an abject Bernice hovering next to me. I don't have the heart to tell her that saffron powder from curry almost never comes out. And even if it does come out, you'd probably have to use enough Dynamo that will leave white streaks on the fabric. Believe me, I know from past experiences. Sigh.

A bit later, the wine and Chivas comes out and people start getting high and tipsy. I could have sworn that some of them (whom I won't mention by name) were drunk although they noisily and insistently protested that they were sober. They weren't quite staggering around and puking but they had red-faces and they were definitely more high and way noisier than they were normally. From what I've seen and heard, people normally get noisier and rowdier as they consume more alcohol. So the louder you protest that you're sober, the tipsier you probably are. There are a few exceptions like me, who easily get red from the tiniest bit of alco but still stone-cold sober. Well, sober enough to count till 21 can already lah. ;)
All sober cause the wine & Chivas+coke just made their entry Let's play 'Who can spot the tipsy girls?'

We spent most of the night "hoi toi-ing" and camwhoring. When we were playing cards in the study, the "drunk but supposedly sober" group floated in, made loads of noise and went out. And they did that a few times. Combined with their hyperness and loudly insane laughter, they really seemed drunk, or at the very least, rather tipsy.

Robyn and I were supposed to share a cup of Chivas and Coke as we didn't want to drink that much, but after the first few sips, I decided I preferred the red wine for now. It tasted alright in the beginning but the aftertaste left in your mouth was that of a cardboard taste. We ended up ditching the cup. =p

I got framed by everyone just because I asked Clareen "Who's that guy ah?" when I saw a newcomer wearing red walk past. And I asked not because I'm interested, but because the guy is wearing red and I can't figure out if he's a friend or a relative. And everybody does the whole high-school routine of telling the guy that I'm interested in him. They even put it down to me being drunk, but I seriously swear I wasn't drunk even though my face was quite red. I just have very good blood circulation. Even at Cze's 18th b'day party, I drank a few cups of fruit punch that had very little alcohol in it and I turned red also. Anyway, when Cla intro's him to us, everyone goes, "Its ok, you no need to remember us, just remember Siew Yen can already." And when he takes pictures for us, they said, "Nevermind if the rest of us don't look nice, Siew Yen nice can already lar."

Thank you so much, my oh so wonderful friends!!! *glares daggers at them*
I'm so not asking anymore who a person is if I see a stranger at a party. Hmmph!

Wil Liam brought over this Jumbo pack of plastic cards which he just bought. The cards were practically the size of my palms, meaning it was about 2x the size of regular cards. I don't think I could have shuffled the deck cause my hands were too small for them. Haha. We teach Bernice and Robyn how to play Texas Hold 'Em and they repay us by winning almost every single round.
All her friends gathered around her after singing her a birthday song
College friends pictures with her 2 cakes - 1 coffee, the other chocolate
College friends. You should be able to spot the tipsy ones. =p

On the way back in the car, Wai Ee and I chit-chatted and as usual, camwhore with Charmaine and Amery. Amery's mum was so nice as to turn on the car lights and take our pictures for us.
Camwhored in the car. Hehe.

The party was really fun and we all had a good time. It was nice being able to celebrate Cla's b'day, see Robyn again and to just sit back, play cards and chit-chat with friends. Not to mention the camwhoring and laughing at the tipsy people. =p
