Doomsday Dawns

Yesterday, I received a call from a 03-27xxxxxx number. Knowing that area code to be Pusat Bdr D'sara/Bangsar, I guessed it would either be that guy from Fitness First who has been enthusiastically calling me of late in hope that I will give in to his persistency and sign up for Fitness First or from HELP. I sorta guessed it was the Fitness First and was all ready to give my polite rejection speech when the voice I hear is suddenly so familiar.

Caller : Hello, may I speak to Siew Yen?
Me : Yes, speaking. *very familiar voice ah, who is this?*
Caller : You know who am I or not?
Me : (lightbulb goes off in my head) Err...yeah I know. Its you right, Zhan Sheng?
Caller : Yeap. I'm calling you to ask you to go for your yearbook photoshoot this Friday as you missed your one the last time round.
Me : Aiya! Need to meh? Lazy larr...Btw, what on earth are you doing in HELP on a Sunday?
Zhan Sheng : I'm working off my internship hours la!
Me : Oh, I forgot that you're an intern!

The funny coincidence of getting called by your friend interning at college on a Sunday of all days. I thought HELP was only open on Sundays during student recruitment season. =p

Later at night while chatting online with a college friend...

-William- :
>Dear all, >You can collect your Term Results from the Lower Foyer this coming >Tuesday 10am onwards from the Lower Foyer, Main Block. >Jasmine
¢ћŐcøŁãŦěÄŋ§ē! :

-William- :

¢ћŐcøŁãŦěÄŋ§ē! :

-William- :

¢ћŐcøŁãŦěÄŋ§ē! :

i got it, but i think i automatically read it as friday. eh, you tipu me ah?
-William- :
what? wat tipu u? i read wrongly?
¢ћŐcøŁãŦěÄŋ§ē! :
i dunno. but i seriously tot it was friday lorr...you sure its this tuesday?

-William- :
i copied paste from the email...how can i be wrong? u read urself.. >Dear all, >You can collect your Term Results from the Lower Foyer this coming >Tuesday 10am onwards from the Lower Foyer, Main Block>Jasmine. i kinda thought it was friday too after reading the email..i read again then i was like..eh
¢ћŐcøŁãŦěÄŋ§ē! :
ahhh...shit!

For one second there, I seriously thought he was pranking me. Not that I didn't trust him, but I was just checking to ensure that I didn't end up the butt of a practical joke when I walk into college the next day panickedly asking everyone about the results. =p

I automatically read 'Tuesday' as 'Friday' cause I was told way earlier that results were coming out on Friday the 16th, not Tuesday! Bloody hell, I was casually floating along and enjoying life as I thought doomsday was on Friday. Sigh.

I have 10 hours+ before I collect my results. Uurrggh! I think I'll be all jittery and get sensations of wanting to throw up from nerves while waiting to collect my results and debating with myself on whether to look at the result slip there and than or to bring it home untouched to open it carefully in the privacy of my studyroom and solace of my computer.

Thank God for friends that are the human equivalent of a Prozac/choc frappe/good book/warm bath/chocolate/sitting in front of the fire all warm and cozy/relaxing a hammock by the beach/partying the night away/just chilling or whatever it takes to make you calm and able to face life's storms straight in the face.

I am blessed to know you. =)
