Moments of Truth

Moments of Truth

My phone died just before I went to bed and it wouldn't switch on no matter how frantically I tried. Before I left for college, I used my mum's phone to check my sim card for a few phone numbers, msges and calls. Just as I pick up an incoming call, my mum's phone dies of battery.

"Oh shit! Why lah I so damn suay one? Of all days, it picks today to give out on me!"

I can't remember Zhan Sheng's mobile number and he can't call me to see if I'm ready to go or not, cause my phone is offline. Really, really sorry yea Zhan Sheng, for troubling you so much this morning. And thanks for lending me your spare phone for today.

My dad's spare phone is currently in use as he sent in his dopod for repairs. Sigh. I think I shall have to walk around phoneless for the next few days or so until I can find/beg/steal/borrow a spare phone for temporary use. Phoneless, I'll probably feel so disconnected from everyone and I shall have to resort to lending other people's phones to make calls/msges or to the old trusty public phones, which are often vandalised. Sigh. I'll probably get dirty looks from friends who think I'm deliberately not picking up or not replying their calls and msges.

I didn't tell my parents that my results were coming out today as I only found out about it on Sunday but I did tell them last week that it'd be out on Friday. So I figured that if I got good enough results, it'd be great to give them a nice surprise and if I didn't get good enough results, well than there's not much harm in me keeping it to myself a lil longer is there? ;)

Anyway, I collected my exam results this morning and I'm not saying anything more about it here for now. Except that I was kinda thunderstruck for a bit at what an unexpected surprise it was. Weird man, its a tad unusual. Okay, its more than a tad unusual. On second thought however, maybe its not that unusual, considering that the person in question is me after all. =p

I stopped blogging for a bit to enjoy the fireworks in the sky. I totally love fireworks. Catherine wheels, bottle rockets, sparklers, ground spinners, pinwheels, flares, Roman candles...Just love 'em all. Except for the fact that they pollute the air and its so expensive. Its like watching your money burn and blaze in the sky. But I find fireworks so pretty and romantic. It simply lights up the sky and sparkles in the dark night. The nicest and longest display I've ever seen was on New Year's Eve at the 20th World Scout Jamboree in Thailand. It was so long that my neck hurt so badly from looking upwards in the sky for so long. =p

On the way home from college, Amery suddenly spots her mum's car next to my mum's car on the road. With her mum on the phone, Amery couldn't call her mum's mobile to tell her that she's next to us. As the traffic was all jammed up, she quickly hopped from our car to her mum's car where her mum looked up in surprise to see her knocking on the backseat door.

I simply laughed at the hilarity of the situation before I gently broke the surprise of my exam results to my mum. And I must say she took it fairly well and she was alright with my results. =)

I'm off to watch my 9.30 show and I'm at peace with the world for now. =D
